Chitta Katha Lake is an Alpine Lake located in Shounter Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is located at an elevation of 13,500 feet (4,100 m). It is located in Shounter Valley, Azad Kashmir. The place can be thought of as a junction of Neelum, Naran, and Skardu. Trek level is Moderate to Hard. We have done this lake many times. On avg, we will trek 6 to 7 hours a day with stops now and then and covering8 to 9 KM a day.
Chitta Katha is a regional name that means “White Stream”. The inception of the lake Chita Katha Sar is the Chitta Katha stream which is flowing from Mount Harri Parbat. This Mountain is a religious place for the Hindu followers who relate it to Lord Shiva and the eternal sanctuary of their Lord “The Kailash”. Chita Katha lake is accessible through a rough but beautiful and scenic trek.
After reaching there, bewitching beauty and supernatural charm mesmerize the tourists. The jeep track starts from Kel to Domail Bala. It is a rough shingle road of 20 kilometers (12 miles) in length. The hiking trek starts along with a 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) long lush green beautiful patch.
The lake is accessible from Kel by a 20-kilometers (12 mi) jeep track and then 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) hiking trek.
Day 1 – Islamabad to Shounter Valley Departure for Chitta Khatta Basecamp at 12:30 AM, Arrival Sharda at 7:30 AM, Transfer to local 4×4 Jeeps for Chitakhata Basecamp, Arrival Chitakhata Basecamp at 03:00 PM, Allocation of Camps and refresh and relax. Dinner, and Overnight in Shounter valley
Day 2 – Daak Two Wake up at 7:00AM, Breakfast at 8:00 AM Start our trek from Chitakhata village to Daak Two, Arrival at basecamp around 4:00 PM, Dinner, and Overnight in Camps.
Day 3 Wake up at 7:00 AM, Breakfast at 8:00 AM Start our trek from Daak Two to Chita khata Lake, Arrival at Lake around 12:00 PM, Sightseeing and Photography. Start trek towards Chitakhata Village. Dinner and Overnight in Camps at Chitakhata Village.
Day 4 : Early Morning Breakfast 6:00 AM.
Transfer into Jeeps for Sharda, Arrival at Sharda 12:00 PM .Transfer to own transport and continue to drive towards Islamabad, Arrival in Islamabad around 8:00 PM. Drop Participants End of tour[/tg_accordion]
